Saturday 6/26/2010 Circle at Sunset vs Kangaroos at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont
Match started late because of the 40/40 Premier. CAS won the toss and elected to bat. CAS was losing wickets at regular intervals and Kangaroos kept the pressure. Shankar, Sampath, Prashanth bowled tight spells to limit CAS to 43 runs with 7 wickets down.
Kangaroos started their reply by scoring quick runs without losing wickets. Kangaroos won the match in 9.2 overs with 1 wicket gone. Rajakumar top scored with 14 runs and Prasan scored 7.
Man of the Match was Sampath Kannan from Kangaroos for his tight spell of 4-1-6-2.
Sunday 6/27/2010 Challengers vs Prime Contenders at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont
Challengers won the toss and elected to field first. Prime Contenders scored 93 in 20 overs.
Challengers achieved the target in 14.1 overs with 3 wickets down.
Man of the Match was Venkat Raman from Challengers.
Sunday 6/27/2010 Denver Tigers vs Rockies at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont
Denver Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first. Denver Tigers were all out for 121 in 17.3 overs. Rockies took wickets at regular intervals but Indranil on other end in spite of the wicket fall played an unbelievable innings for Tigers, he scored stunning 79 runs and put up a challenging target of 121 for Rockies. For Rockies Manimaran, Jayendhar and Sachin took 3 wickets each, also Pattabi took a stunning full length dive catch at short mid-on to dismiss dangerous batsman Ravi.
Rockies chased the target successfully within 18 Overs with loss of 3 wickets (122/3 is the final score). One man responsible for Rockies victory was Manish Kumar, right from the word go he thrashed all the bowlers out of park (He was hitting 6’s at his will). He made 86 runs, undoubtedly that should be the innings of the week for tennis ball tournament. Aravinth supported Manish well and made patient 19 runs. For Tigers, Indranil and Taraq bowled an economical spells.
Man of the Match was Manish Kumar from Rockies for his brilliant 86 runs and 1 wicket.
Undoubtedly the game witnessed two outstanding performance from two players (Indranil and Manish).
Sunday 6/27/2010 Anchors vs Orchards at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont
Anchor won the toss and elected to bat first. With some disciplined bowling, Orchards gave away only 27 runs in the first 10 overs. Anchors sped up in rest 10 overs and ended up scoring 79 in 20 overs losing 5 wickets. Bharat was the highest scorer with 23 runs, Murli scored 19 runs with lot of patience.For Orchards Imran got 2 wickets .
For Orchards, Avinash started with 4 off the first ball. Orchards kept losing wickets but runs were coming on the board. Bunny stabilized the innings hitting six and four . It was his aggressive batting style took the match away from the Anchors. Bunny completed the game for Orchards by hitting a Four in 19th over.
Man of the Match was Bunny for scoring 23 runs not out .
Sunday 6/27/2010 Crazy Cricketers vs Warriors at Memorial Park, CO Springs
Crazy Cricketers won the toss and elected to bat, Warriors bowled tight allowing only one boundary in the entire innings, CC ended up scoring 77 all out in 19.2 overs. Venesh was the mainstay of CC innings with 26 runs.
Warriors started slow scoring only 14 runs in 6 overs. Manohar came when 2nd wicket fell and accelerated the pace of scoring with some big shots. With a solid partnership Ram(26) and Manohar(31) took the match away from CC. Warriors chased the target in 15 overs.
Man of the Match was Manohar for scoring 31 runs, 1 run out and 1 catch.
Sunday 6/27/2010 Spartans vs Buffs at Memorial Park, CO Springs
It was a cloudy day at memorial park and due to the delay by the visiting team, the match was reduced to 16 overs.Buffs won the toss and elected to bat first.Buffs kept losing wickets at regular intervals, with Najeed (11) and Abhishek (24) the only noteworthy performances with the bat.Pavan.K bowled well for Spartans with 4-0-16-2 and Guru assisting with 2-0-7-2 and there were 3 run outs to add to that. Buffs managed 71/10 in 15.3 overs.
Buffs got the early break through when the score was 4 and Abhishek'snippy bowling (4-0-11-1) ensured buffs had a fighting chance.Then the introduction of Sriram Akella(3-0-11-3) and Shravan Kommu(2.1-0-12-2) and some stunning fielding by Suresh pulled the match back for Buffs. With Spartans at 56/6, Buffs managed to keep their heads up to get 3 run outs and a crucial catch to seal the match by 10 runs with Sumeeth(8*) running out of partners at the other end.
Man of the Match was Abishek Chandrasekaran for 24 runs and 4-0-11-1.
