2012 Home Real Estate T16 Match Reports - 3rd Place and Finals & Award Winners

Sunday 6/10/2012 Orchards vs Titans at Lower Garden Acres,Longmont - Reported by (Titans)
Orchards won the toss and elected to bat.
Orchards openers gave an explosive start to their innings scoring 17 runs in 2 overs without loosing a wicket. However the change in bowling worked for Titans as Rishab was bowled by Rama. After RishabÕs departure Anand counter attacked the bowling but perished to a full length delivery by Rama which found the stumps. Murugesh and Manas tried to stabilise the innings by rotating the strike and finding the odd boundary. Orchards were 41/2 after 8 overs. After the break Sandeep and Suresh were introduced into the bowling attack and they built pressure straight away with their immaculate line and length and change in pace. Soori got rid of Murugesh, courtesy to a superb catch by Sandeep. This opened an opportunity for Titans and they truly snatched it by getting rid of dangerous Imran the very next over. After this Orchards lost quickly 3 more wickets which caused their scoring rate to come down. Manas played a sheet anchor role for Orchards and held their innings together. Finally orchards made a total of 79/10 in 16 overs.
Titans openers started the chase by respecting good deliveries and attacking the balls which are in their hitting area. A couple of opportunities were presented, but fielding team failed to capitalize on them. Rama appeared in good touch, hit a wonderful pull shot off Imran's bowling that cleared the ropes. Vinod perished while trying to hit a short of length ball. In the same over Rama also fell in the similar fashion. Titans were 18/2 in 4 overs. Avinash and Sandeep arrived to the crease. They were watchful for couple of overs taking singles and rotating strike. Once they found their groove, they quickly found the the gaps, converted singles into couples. Singles were almost unstoppable. Sandeep in particular was mercurial and presented a challenge to fielding side with quick singles. Avinash was also in his usual self, picking gaps at will and complemented Sandeep with quick running between the wickets. As the partnership grew Titans went to attacking mode and completed the Game in 13.2 overs.
Sandeep was awarded Man of match for his 3 wickets and 46 Runs. Suresh was the awarded the MVP.
A perfect end for Titans T16 journey where they remained Undefeated in the tournament.

Sunday 6/03/2012 Anchors vs WyoCC at Lower Garden Acres,Longmont - Reported by Amit Thakar(WyoCC)
It was Anchors vs WYOCC at lower garden acres, Longmont on Sunday 3rd June to decide the 3rd place winner of 2012 T16 super league. WYOCC won the toss and elected to bat first. After losing the first wicket in first over, Nishant (24) and Thushara (21) played well to put on a strong partnership building up a good platform for a big score. Thumma Das broke the partnership as soon as he came into the attack and also brought the run rate down giving only 14 runs in his 4 overs. Amit(40*) and Anurud (15) helped WYOCC reach 114 for the loss of 5 wickets at the end of 16 overs.
Batting second Anchors lost few quick wickets early on and were 21 for 4 at the end of 7 overs. Disciplined bowling by Sameep and Nishant restricted Anchors in initial overs. Sachin (31) and Ravi (18) counterattacked and threatened to take away the match but WYOCC bowled and fielded well to win the match by 25 runs. Sachin played brilliant innings scoring 31 for Anchors and was the highest scorer for them. Sameep, Nishant and Anurud took 2 wickets each for WYOCC.
Nishant Lakhera was named man of the match for his 24 runs and 2 wickets for 16 runs in his allotted 4 overs.

Sunday 6/10/2012 Royal Warriors vs Crazy Cricketers at Lower Garden ACres,Longmont - Reported by (Crazy Cricketers)
Crazy Cricketers won the toss and elected to bowl. Royal Warriors had a blow as they lost their opener on the very first ball of the innings for an excellent fielding by Arun. DonÕs 4th ball of the first over claimed another wicket. Crazy Cricketers were all around with their excellent bowling and fielding. There were few outstanding catches taken which packed Royal Warriors for 28 in 12.1 overs. Adarsh claimed 3 wickets in 4 overs with giving just 6 runs.
In response, Crazy Cricketers easily reached 34 runs in 5.3 overs losing 1 wicket. Excellent batting performance by Kishore Nandode who hit quick 16 runs and Rahul not out with 12 runs.
Adarsh who gave away just 6 runs in 4 overs taking 3 wickets declared MOM. Crazy Cricketers won the PLATE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP by 9 wickets.
3rd Place
Sunday 6/03/2012 Challengers vs Denver Chargers at Lower Garden ACres,Longmont - Reported by Mangesh Sahasrabudhe(Challengers)
Challengers won the toss and elected to bat first. Venkat and Radha played very well for their 50+ runs partnership for the 2nd wicket. Later some good batting by Karan and Mangesh helped challengers to post a decent total of 102/6 in 16 overs. Venkat was the top scorer with 32 runs while Radha made 22.
In reply, it was all Aditya, Vinay and Sanjay show. Aditya took his first 5 wickets haul while Vinay picked 4. Sanjay was brilliant behind the stump by taking 4 good catches. Denver Chargers were bowled out for 72 in 13.3 overs.
Challengers won by 30 runs, Venkat was declared MOM for his 32 runs.
