Saturday 7/7/2012 Panthers vs WyoCC at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont - Reported by Amit Thakar(WyoCC)

Match was delayed due to wet ground and reduced to 18 overs. WYOCC won the toss and decided to bowl first to take the advantage of wet conditions.
The decision to bowl first paid off dearly starting first over and Panthers were 3 wickets down at the end of 3 overs with 4 runs on board. Vinay successfully counterattacked and scored 14 runs quickly. Once he got out Panthers lost wickets at regular interval and were all out for 44 runs. For WYOCC Sameep, Nishant and Sandeep took 3, 2 and 2 wickets respectively.

Knowing that the target was achievable without taking any risk, WYOCC started slowly. WYOCC lost their first wicket in 3rd over, but 2nd wicket partnership of 27 runs between Nishant (11) and Sandeep (14*) pretty much sealed the match for WYOCC. WYOCC won the match by 7 wickets.

Sandeep was declared MOM for his 2 wickets and unbeaten 14* runs.

Saturday 7/7/2012 Buffs vs Anchors at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont - Reported by Adithya Borra(Anchors)

Das Thumma was the architect of a comfortable win for Anchors in their opening match this season. Das picked up his fifth four-for in Twenty20 cricket, in conditions perfectly suited to his accuracy and medium pace. His performance helped restrict Buffs to 96, and he also ensured the chase on track with a composed 35 that marked his own return to form.
Anchors decided to field and started with some accurate bowling from both Ravi and Bharath. Das bowled a dangerous spell full of yorkers, and was supported by Vimal and Vivek, who maintained pressure on the Buffs batsmen. And Shanker spun his right-arm orthodox significantly, often beating the right-handers by several inches. Their fielding was exceptional, especially Ravi and Vivek patrolling the boundary to prevent the batsmen from breaking free, and dismissing three batsmen who tried to clear the boundary.
That Buffs had a score they could hope to defend was down to contributions from both the openers Bharath and Abhijit Kaul. Abhijit was forced to curb his natural instincts but found an able partner in Bharath, whose swift running and busy approach didn't allow the run rate to buckle down significantly. Interpersed with a spate of singles and twos were a of couple of great shots from Abhijit, a wristy smack over the square-leg fielder standing out. The 29-run stand ended when Bharath was bowled off a yorker length delivery from Das. Ravi gave Abhijit an angry send-off when he was dismissed in the 13th over. Mohan tried to trouble the Anchors, with a huge six over long on but was soon dismissed by Shanker in the same over. The remaining batsmen tried to increase the run rate after a great opening start but some great bowling from Anchors in the death overs restricted Buffs to only 96.

Buffs began to control the game as early as the third ball of the chase, when Anchors new signing Adithya tried to slog a slow ball from Koushik but could only find the fielder at midwcket. With a wicket in the first over, Anchors position got worse in the second over, when Shanker was dismissed in a similar fashion. The hosts were floundering at 11 for 2. Ravi and Bharath steadied the innings after the early wobble scoring at a rapid pace and keeping the chase under control. Both Bharath and Ravi started off the innings with two beautiful shots on the up off the bowling off Buffs. At the half-way stage, Anchors looked like they were the favorites, but their batsmen collapsed to underline just how unpredictable this format can be.
Das enjoyed his homecoming to the tournament he revels most in, started things off with a six over long on, his first of the tournament. His partnership with Deepak was a pivotal in the game. They kept the situation under control by staying abreast with the asking rate, ensuring the pressure did not get too intense to handle. Das swiped his way to a 32 ball 35 which included clouting three huge sixes over long on as Anchors meandered along to a comfortable win in their opening match of the season.

Das with figures of 4-0-22-4 and an unbeaten 35 was declared the man of the match.

Sunday 7/8/2012 SCC vs Cabelas at Lower Garden Acres, Longmont - Reported by Arun Santhanakrishnan(SCC)

After that everyone chipped in and took the score to 98 for a loss of 7 wickets. Murali played superbly and scored 30. Suresh and Yogesh got 2 wickets each for Cabelas.

SCC started off good by taking couple of quick wickets. Ramu, Avinash and Shailendra played well for Cabelas but there was wicket in regular interval. Cabelas got all out when the score was 58. Shailendra was Cabelas highest scorer with 12 runs. Shiva and Hem took 3 wickets each for SCC.
